Small flagon

Hand-built using black stoneware clay. Once leather-hard I've carved a concentric 'honeycomb reef' pattern in the surface. Glazed in a satin matt turquoise. Un-glazed internally and on the neck and I've wiped some of the glaze from the surface of the carving, allowing the natural beauty of the black clay to contrast with the glaze.

Measures 19 cm high and 13 cm at the widest point.
